Let's explore a keener reality - that exclusive wonder - us. While I am quite excited, amazed and sometimes amused by the grandeur and intelligence of our remarkable universe, which we did not create, I am constantly inspired by the extraordinary ingenuity, innovativeness and creativity of those of us it has birthed. Such awesomeness I see.

We is a system called us. Us is a huge system created by we. Yes, we built us lock, stock and barrel. We did it! Pause! While that reality is marinating in the cantankerous cabezza, let's look this way for a little while. Behold! A wee bit of wonder here! You see, I hear.
Awesome! Isn't it amazing what smart beings
The Creator created, imbuing each with
such capacity to learn and think?
"Learning is one of life's most essential activities." While, indeed, we have instituted many formal mechanisms for learning, the wunderkinds amoung us - the creators, the innovators, the problem-solvers, our deep-thinkers, our geniuses - continually point to a vast array of educational resources and knowledge-pools open and available to all of us. It is the very university at which they tool themselves and hone their talents; colleges full of impeccable learning: learnings from mistakes, from mishaps, from differences, from deficiencies, from desires, from dilemmas, from failures, from fears, from strengths, from struggles, from community, from history, from chaos and discord, from order and unity, from our rights and from our wrongs. It is an Ivy League unparalleled to which all are welcome, to which each of us is abundantly qualified, and from which we disqualify oursleves by voluntary non-participation. Class is currently in session. Cost: awareness, time, effort and intelligence. Benefit: ENORMOUS! Matriculation: Brilliance. No institutional stamp of approval is required. This is so awesome I feel a thrill running up and down my spine. Consider what you have as a gift and what you miss as an opportunity. For it is! And they are. The secret? Renewal of the mind. Re-wire it.
BE THE BEST MIRROR YOU CAN BE
Knowing Better Positions Us To Be Better And To Do Better - It equips us that much better to create anew, to devise effective solutions, to innovate beneficially. The choice for action, however, is still up to the individual person who claims to know better. The simple question then is this: why would anyone who knows better choose not to be better or do better? Why? {See The Rat And The Alley Cat - Getting What You Want Along Your Journey.} Sometimes we know we've wronged ourselves. We just need to forgive ourselves, find the solution, fix it, and fly free. A mirror is quite handy then. Say to self, "Self, I permit you to forgive me. Thank you, I accept."
WHAT MESSAGE ARE YOU GETTING? What messages are you absorbing? What are you doing about it? Think about it. Give yourself an honest answer. Act on it. Now let’s look at us. Us! Yes, that huge system we built. Us! In it is stored the collective mind, the collective will, the collective conscience, the collective soul. Intention. Agreement. Decree. We store these in us, i.e., our living, breathing, vital system; the engine that drives everything within; an incredible force against everything without. We build us. Exclusively. We define they & them = NOT us. 'I' take shelter within us. No matther how much an 'I' would want to do and be better, though 'I' can, we never will, until 'I' acknowledge and accept the fundamental nature of us, which we build. Its fundamental nature, its very intrinsic being is this: us is an 'it' we breathe life into. Nothing changes, neither for good nor ill, and never will, if 'I' don't, and when 'I' do, 'I' - ipso facto - relinquish the natural protection of us. We run us. We own us. We create us. In us we hide, cognizant of the privilege and authority of this full disclaimer: "that's not me!" The transformative question for 'I' is this: Am I Bold enough to see us for what it truly is then dare to be and do better knowing that You and I create we? Or am I just a breathing wimp trying to hide in us?
"If you want to touch the past, touch a rock. If you want to touch the present, touch a flower. If you want to touch the future, touch a life." I recommend touching them all. Feel a new strength rising up in you. "Life doesn't frighten me at all."

Faith, trust, belief, hope and wishing ARE NOT one and the same thing. Each one is very different from the other. If you know better you'll be better, so take time to understand what each means, what each does, what each delivers. We can't do better if we don't know any better. Okay, we might get lucky! NOTE: Faith is not blind; we are. Going about these blindly they blindside us. Our faith is blind. We trust blindly. Belief becomes barefaced blindness. Our hope is blind. We keep wishing none of this is so and for the stars to help us - smh - for even when the stars light up a path so bright wisemen have arrrived bearing great gifts, will we see? We keep bumping into brick walls. It's a bloody mess. Frustration builds. Then we try dragging God into the mix. Oh Dear! Hubris! We can't squeeze God into our little mess; God is way too HUGE; God is not draggable, but you can keep trying. It seems to me God has already distinguished and clarified each of the mentioned miraculous facilitators: faith, trust, belief, hope and wish. But isn't it strange? We seem to be able to find clarity in messages God NEVER delivered to any of us, while, incomprehensibly, finding it incredibly difficult to comprehend the very clear messages being continualy delivered to each of us - to you specifically, to me specifically. SMH. When we know better, we'll do better. I highly recommend knowing better, learning from experience: smelling, seeing, feeling, listening, tasting; understanding; reconciling. Let me share with you a little story. But it is huge. It's a true story. It's in the next column. Prepare to experience it. Ah, better, let me share two.

Life doesn't frighten me at all.
So it is written as the story was told:
Cain said to his brother Abel, “Let’s go out to the field."
While they were in the field, Cain killed his brother Abel.
Then the Lord asked Cain, “Where is your brother Abel?”
“I don’t know,” Cain replied. “Am I my brother’s keeper?”
There is much more of this story as told, if you but engage the whole - not just this portion or any clipped part - so as to discover with your own eyes and ears and heart and mind and soul the very nature of humanity and each human kind, being aware of the whole in a manner that allows fruitful understanding of how best to comport one's self in a world we must share together . . . and so that we might think of such things and not miss great opportunities to learn from our ancestors' failings and arrogance and ignorance, and so as not to repeat ad infinitum their wrongs, and therefore allow ourselves to grow into a dynamic reality that is rich and full and rewarding, even as we discover that our daily truth is rarely clear and certain but rather a wretched mess wisely untangled.
