Imagine yourself one of the two players on court. What strategy should your clone employ in this particular match (game by game, point by point) as the match progresses? Observe the player you're PRETENDING to be. (It's a pretense; don't get ahead of yourself.) Is your clone employing your strategy? What are you learning from your clone's choiices vs yours? Make notes. Discuss.


Pay particular attention to serve selection, placement & speed of one or more of the following players: Roger Federer, Serena Williams, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray, Petra Kivitova. Observe again against a different player. What did you learn? Take note of it.


Oh how essential this is! Focus for an entire set on the footwork (alone) of one of these players: Federer, Gasquet, Radwanska; if yoou're particularly tall, focus on Raonic.

Net Apporach

Catch as catch-can on this one. (No, that's me being a comec - laugh track here.) Look to see how players are setting up to approach; note when they are approaching. Raonic and Federer are probably good bets. I'll make other suggestions during the Open.
